Haida Gwaii Wedding

Mallory (fastest walker ever) and Sean (uber chill musician) invited me to capture their elopement on magic Haida Gwaii this past August. The beauty of this type of elopement is we have time. Time to get to know each other over a period of two days. Having a few meals together, sharing a glass of wine, hiking and scouting a few locations, allows all kinds of magic to happen.

The day of their wedding was super chill, each getting ready on their own, followed by their first look, shortly after we headed off to a few locations then followed by a very intimate wedding officiated by the famous poet and personable Susan Musgrave, followed by delicious wine and Mallory’s artistic charcuterie and finally champagne on the beach with Haida Gwaii’s early evening mystic light. Location Highwater House, Masset, Haida Gwaii.

and a great meeting with Juno Youn from Galerie Youn in Montréal, who showed interest in this body of work has propelled me to do more. Off to Newfoundland today with the lovely Kristy to do more narrative work of this nature. We are bringing a few props and some imagination:)

Feeling very fortunate to be chosen as a featured photographer for ACDSEE systems whom generously paid for this Newfoundland trip., the talented Mark Wyatt will be videoing me and Kristy over these next several days. Looking forward to sharing the results!

2 days in my beloved city is far too short but I’ll take what I can get. In those 2 days of walking 30+ C and what seemed like 300% humidity. I came across a lovely elderly women with fake grass under her yellow beach umbrella, insane thunder storms, Yan who travels with pet rats and cat for a little help from passers by in order to feed his furry loved ones and I heard Shwartz’s restaurant was saved by Celin Dion and now attracts an insane line-up. The good news is the sudden rain fall prompted me to walk into a reputable gallery and connected with gallery’s owner Juno and if all goes well, may have an exhibit there!:)
