Last month I was invited to talk at PechaKucha. Speakers show 20 slides at 20 seconds per slide, almost 6 minutes! At first I hesitated, way too intimidated to talk in front of a crowd. There’s a reason why I’m behind the camera. Which is why I accepted the invitation. To do just that, overcome my fear of public speaking and an opportunity to fine tune my last 30 years as an artist and review where I’m going with this. The images below are my artwork, cartoons and a wee little history. Of course the physical dialogue is missing, but you’ll get a small glimpse my creative history. Would I do a public speaking event again? In a heartbeat!
Kim and Craig threw a classy and fabulous post wedding party at the E&N Roundhouse in Vic West, following their intimate wedding a month before. Kim (also a talented wedding photographer and friend) asked me to shoot only for a few hours but to mostly party, which I did happily! They did a circle with all their 130 friends holding hands and quietly wishing them goodness. A heartfelt moment and my word these two are much loved! Talented to boot too, they planned the whole event with the following award-winning Toque Catering, flowers by Rose Florals, Dress from Blush, Rentals from Wise Co, and finally Dj Truth Sound Systems. Superb party!
Yé! Off to Vancouver for a fabulous workshop with some awesome peeps and some personal photography on rain. Sweet sweet rain. Much needed right now. I hear the salmon are having a rough go coming up dry streams:(
