Below are one or two images chosen from each wedding of 2011. I chose these images for either their sense of humour, their heartfelt moment, their beauty and or uniqueness. Thanking each and every one of you for your trust in my lens. Many bring props, conjure up themes and playfulness while other couples work naturally with the elements exposed to them – all of which makes for both creative and spontaneous images. It is a privilege and honour to photograph so many amazing heartfelt couples as well as their supportive families and friends. A heartfelt thank you!

I just LOVE my job for all the fabulous people I’ve met this year including two fabulous ladies from Australia whom eloped and chose Brentwood Bay Resort to spend their wedding weekend. It did not matter where on the premises nor did they fuss about the signing table. Their sense of humour reflected their choice of shoes and their flexibility for random locations throughout Saanichton. Way fun!

Dominic and David chose Hatley Castle to be married at and the colors this time of year are stunning! The rain did not phase their spirits one bit! Their story is a heartfelt one and the emotions ran high throughout the day amongst family and friends whom came from many parts of the US. I look forward to visiting you in San Fransisco!

Jennifer and Neil chose the lovely Sea Cider Farm to be married at. Prior to the ceremony we had one and half hours to roam the area and came across the cabbage patch. The light was simply magic and a visual treat! If I had it my way, I would lock the sun and clouds into a permanent Autumn setting with a warm summer late afternoon heat. Ah……

Genevìeve and Jeff, backyard, Sidney, BC

Genevìeve and Jeff chose to marry in an intimate setting behind their parents backyard. After their heartfelt ceremony we strolled around the Saanich farmlands where the landscape is just simply breath taking followed by a quick pit stop in Chinatown.

Michele and Joshua chose Black Rock Resort as their venue of choice. The surrounding sea and environs make it a stunning place. Their families and friends were remarkably animated and kind!

One of my favorite wedding planners’ Kirstin (sales@hastingshouse.com) asked me to photograph Hastings House for their website. A remarkable place nestled on top of a hill overlooking Ganges Harbour. It was truly a pleasure to work with Tasha and Jesse whom married only a month before and did not hesitate to wear their wedding clothes once again. Camille and Alex from San Fransisco were married only the day before, their flowers still fresh! I look forward to photographing weddings at this beautiful venue.

Melissa and Dan reminded me a little of Bonnie and Clyde at least from their clothing and props. Much fun! They were married at Poets’ Cove surrounded by wonderful families and guests.

Christa and Greg had their wedding at the famous and very delicious Deep Cove Chalet. The food is exquisite! After their afternoon brunch with guests they headed to the waters’ edge to be escorted from their lovely rowboat to an even bigger boat for their honeymoon.

To have humor and love is a wonderful combo! Just met up with David and Dominic from San Fransisco and within minutes felt very much at ease. A typical summer day as we headed out for a quick hour session and the generous skies opened and dumped on us. Can’t complain I’m a big fan when seas and skies are one. We very much needed those umbrellas. Can’t wait to photograph your wedding in October!
